to do with the empirical facts. To this day, I don't know if my pop told my mummy to leave or she left of her very own deal when I was in my early teenagers. All I actually know is that I held on to my rage well after I received my 1st Social Security check. I was to experience that fury through my adulthood at such a level that I literally toughened my heart against a girl, my mummy, whom I neither knew nor cared to grasp. All of this occurred in the 1950s, in an age that judged girls more cruelly than men for leaving their kids. It wasnt till I started to write my mum into my novel as a built personality that I started to feel the anguish I imagined her to have felt in being deserted into silence by her community and one of her youngsters. In the novel, I create a girl who is emotionally and psychologically declined by her hubby. I openly gave her a bonafide reason for her sexual wanderings outside the hearth, a phrase one of the clergymen uses in the novel. It was thru these acts of infidelity ensuing from the squashing refusal of the fictional personalities hubby that I started to sympathise with my mums predicament. Also I am convinced that we delude ourselves into believing that there is always a clear excellence between fact and fiction. One famous trick cyclist says that trauma is the sole reaction that never lies. And fiction, which one writer calls a lie that often tells some truth might be the simplest way that we are able to resolve the traumas of our early childhood. And I think, in the final analysis, that I have given it my best shot.
