Firebelly tells the tale of a youthful girl living in the confusing sector of divorce, a teen girl fighting to know the difference between what she'll be and what she must be, and a firebelly frog who have to make a choice between a comfy life as a pet and a brave life in the wild. Underneath the storyline are concepts from existentialism, particularly Sartre, Dostoyevsky, Heidegger, and Kierkegaard. This interpretation is an example of the new face of the global book market where a first-time author from Boston and a little publisher from Cairo can meet thru a bookfair in Bologna and create world media reports. This collusion demonstrates the growing possibilities for writers, publishers, and entrepreneurs-of-ideas in the rising world economy. Michaels, was prompted to write this story when his children pet frog was incidentally lost in a rental automobile. He consoled her by making the recommendation the frogs astonishing appearance to the subsequent renter might change someones life. Straight after this situation, whilst trekking in Nepal, Michaels started writing a tale about how something little and irrelevant may be transformed into something grand and pointed.
