Minaya, who related late last week Randolph was the fellow to turn round the Mets ' season, delivered the stories. It was claimed that it wasn't Minaya's call, that he carried out orders from above, which did nothing except lessen his credibility as a GM. Inversely, the Mariners discharged both their boss and GM ( Bill Bavasi ) a couple of days apart. And 3 trigger-happy possession groups, all with $100 m. payrolls, all needing scapegoats due to underachieving players.
