Tanya Barry Photograph Port Medway writer places 2nd with 1st novel Port Medway resident, Tim Reeves"Horton, who has been writing since he was 8 years of age has won 2nd place in the 2008 Atlantic Writing Competition. I was surprised when I got the revelation that I really won 2nd place, recounted Reeves"Horton. He entered his novel, An Unassumed Road in the H.R. Fundamentally its an offbeat story of a fellow looking for true love, he observed. Reeves"Horton recollects the 1st time he sat down to scribble. I was 8 years old on a Sat. morning and I wrote 3 country and western songs, he announced. Ive always been ready to put my thoughts down on paper.. Writing gives Reeves"Horton an opportunity to tell a tale. Im the worlds worse story teller at a party or social gathering, he revealed, but having the ability to put it down in written form I just feel Im actually able to capture the experience.. It's been years since he started writing this novel. When I was living in Toronto and I was doing plenty of film and TV work out there, I had this story in my head and I wrote it as a screen play and it didnt truly work, he explained. Shortly he gave up making an attempt to make his story into a screenplay and as a novel it truly appeared to come together.. He found out about a week back that he won 2nd place in the H.R. What Id truly like to do is have some folk look at it who know more about this than I do, to lead him in the probable next publication step. He described writing as an extremely gratifying thing for him to do. He moved to Port Medway about a year back with his other half, after living in Toronto for ten years. He grew up principally in the Bridgewater-New Germany area. Im truly enjoying living in a country like Port Medway and all of Queens County. Its just actually an open and inviting place with a chilled atmosphere, he revealed. Newfoundland Labrador : The Telegraph ( St John's ) ; The Western Star ( Corner Brook ).
