Science fiction dreams become fact

Garry Jon Simpson, formerly of Dee Way, Winsford, but now lives in Middlewich, has made his folks proud by getting his debut novel, Alternate, printed by Athena Press. I 1st attempted to draft a novel fifteen years back, though I wasnt happy with it and made a decision to try again about ten years later, he claimed. This novel has been a labour of love that Ive written during the previous four years.. Alternate was released on July seven and is about a trustworthy war ravaged world, which is divided by belief and brought to the threshold of extinction by an enabling PC pathogen. Garry, 34, expounded : I enjoy writing science fiction as you do not have to do lots of research for it. I really got lots of the concepts for the tale simply from listening to races conversations.. Garry, who by day is a construction cards director, is obsessed about films and his fave is Bladerunner. He also enjoys reading and some of his favorite writers are Douglas Adams, well known for writing The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe , and Liverpool writer Clive Barker, who directed Hellraiser. Inspirations for his novel are wide ranging. I like the old fashioned anti-heroes like Jack Nicholson and Marlon Brando, he announced. There also are some messages in the book which I feel are quite strong today, like dependance on technology, even though it often centres around action.. Garry is now writing the follow up to Alternate, that will tie up some loose ends and be the following installment to what he is hoping will be an in depth series. He added : I must extend my thanks to everybody, particularly my bosses for their support, both financially and emotionally.. |
